About the event
Verkeya Speaks, Inc. is currently raising funds for three (3) scholarships benefiting young women of color:
- The Lt. Colonel Jackson Scholarship, awarded to a young woman of color who is a high school senior that has overcome personal or academic hardship and intends to go to college.
- The Mesha Davis Award, awarded to a young woman of color who is a high school senior and intends to go pursue vocational training.
- The Loyd-Blackman Scholarship, awarded to a young woman of color who has excelled in English or the Arts in high school and intends to pursue English or the performing / fine arts in college.
